  • Mike began his career in water as a hydrogeologist for an environmental consulting firm in Southern California in the late 1980s.  He later joined Vidler Water Company in 1997 and worked to acquire and develop water assets in Arizona, California, Colorado and Nevada.  Following Vidler he joined Cadiz, a water company focused on developing facilities to recharge and store water underground for future use.  Most recently, Mike was employed by Summit Global Management and was charged with acquiring and developing water assets throughout the western U.S. and Australia.
  • Prior to joining Vidler in 1997, Mike worked 7 years in public finance where he put together numerous bond financings for local governments.  During these years, Mike gained an appreciation for the challenges faced by local governments in providing services to their constituents while financially constrained.
  • Mike has a B.S. in Geology from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, a M.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of California-Riverside and an M.B.A from Duke University in Durham, NC.  Mike also earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.  His Master of Science thesis, a study of the hydrogeology and geochemistry of the San Jacinto Basin, was published in the Journal of Hydrology.

  • Mike has spent much of his time in the arid West working on pre-development land holdings as a consultant to developers along with participating as a principal in various projects.  Central to his work in pre-development activities is obtaining a reliable water supply by working with the various governmental agencies.
  • For the past five years Mike has spent significant time in Arizona, New Mexico, and southwest Colorado working with engineering and legal professionals to document historic use, physical availability and transferability of water rights to end users.  He has syndicated and invested personally in partnerships formed to develop water assets.
  • Mike lives in Phoenix, AZ and is active in the Arizona development community.  He holds a State of Arizona Real Estate license and received his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in social sciences with an emphasis in political science and economics.
